The significance of the traditional Mehndi ceremony has endured through the ages. Held before the wedding, the festive and colourful event is an important ritual for a bride-to-be. The venue for a recent pre-wedding Mehndi celebration was the splendid Lookout marquee at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town, a function venue curated by Chattels Infrastructure Solutions.

The Events Draping Co. decked the Lookout with pink, orange and purple strips that danced their way across the marquee ceiling, while an interior divison was created by a curtain of luxurious gold velour and translucent gold mesh fabric. The rich colours and fabrics were fitting, given the splendour of the ceremony and the intricacies of the beautiful Mehndi designs.
